Honoring Our Founding Members
The League of Women Voters of Hillside was established in 1983, when a group of powerful women, led by Mrs. Helen Hamlett took on the challenge. One of the original members, Mrs. Rosalia Clegg, is still involved in the League to date. The Hillside League immediately established itself in the township as a viable, non-partisan organization. They began educating citizens by holding voter registration drives, forums, candidate debates, phone banks, etc. The League of Women Voters of Hillside continues its hard work today.
A Century of Progress
For over 100 years, the League has played a crucial role in advocating for voting rights and reforms, adapting to the changing political landscape while remaining steadfast in our mission.
Women Leading the Charge
As a women-led organization, we have continuously championed women's rights, fostering leadership and engagement among women in all levels of government. Today, we continue that same fight for all people.
